Some projects in the pipeline as of 12 April 2015<\/p>\n
Some more progress has been made in the plans to make Vizag a Smart City<\/a>.<\/p>\n Foundation Stone laid for IIM<\/a> in Gambheeram, Visakhapatnam on Saturday, 16 January 2015.<\/p>\n Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University<\/a> is being built at Sabbavaram. (Funding seems to be a problem<\/a> for timely completion though).<\/p>\n Tribal University<\/a> will also most likely be at Sabbavaram.<\/p>\n Sunrise Startup Village<\/a> was launched on 29 September 2014. All physical seats are full and only virtual seats are available for budding entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n An Aerotropolis is planned in Bhogapuram<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) is in progress.<\/p>\n Greenfield International Airport planned for Visakhapatnam in Bhogapuram. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) has been cleared<\/a>.<\/p>\n Metro Rail System is in the pipeline with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) due for submission by 30 June 2015.<\/p>\n It was reported that “proposals of 27 various water supply projects at an estimated cost of Rs 170 crore with financial assistance from the Centre as well as the state to provide water to 2,114 villages in the district in the near future” (http:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/visakhapatnam\/Water-levels-dip-in-coastal-districts\/articleshow\/46751300.cms<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n A Heritage Conservation Committee was supposed to be formed but apparently we are still waiting for a committee chairperson after a year.
