According to the GVMC Commissioner at a Citizen Connect meeting on 9 April 2015:
220 km of storm water drainage in Vizag. 5000 sanitary workers – the number (is adequate to keep the streets and storm water drains clean) matches the prescribed norms/standards for taking care of the city’s sanitation.
25000 households are estimated to be without toilets in the GVMC area. Now they have sanctioned 21000 toilets for households and 40 community toilets. 125 public toilets, out of 200 that are needed, have been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 4 crores.
According to the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development at the same event, 80,000 individual toilets and 120-130 public toilets have been sanctioned by the central government.
